ID #5 the fifth edition of the project will be developed between the end of 2008 and 2010. The set of definitions that stood out in each edition is a necessary ingredient to obtain a living project, complex in its mechanisms, but which aspires to synthesise concrete messages. Messages that must stimulate the participation of creators in processes that result in microcontexts. While in former editions a theme of work was proposed, the methodology that IDENSITAT has been rehearsing along its 10 years of life is now synthesized in the initials ID. The project, pioneered in Calaf in the year 1999, has evolved, spreading a network of collaborations throughout different locations, while seeking out methodologies for the interaction of projects of creation with social, cultural and political contexts of differentiated shades. In this way, proposed originally as a platform for the production of projects impacting upon public space, IDENSITAT has kept on transforming into an itinerant production space, roaming throughout the territory with projects that promote, at the same time as generating visions, analyses and proposals of transformation in its environment.
ID is Identity | Density, a synthesis that initially gave its name to the project, but which could also mean Investigate | Develop - Invent | Discover - Involve | Denounce - I Interrogate | Discuss - Innovation | Decrease among other multiple combinations of terms.
ID refers to this transformation. Idensitat functions as a platform for permanent performance, extending the nodes of the network, reinforcing mechanisms of social interaction, processes of collaboration and of production of knowledge. ID also projects actions of communication and transference, as much surrounding the axes of debate of the project, as of the different productions that will be brought to term. In this way it will connect and collaborate with other social realities, working on the production of projects and promoting linked activities of communication and experimentation with different publics. Through this idea of networking starting from temporary and concrete questions, and with the wish to find mutually reinforcing aspects, ID intends to continue identifying points of connection with different projects linked to contemporary artistic creation.
